My short newborn book is perfect if you're pregnant or holding a brand-new baby and want the simplest possible start, for less than a pack of diapers.

GET THE NEWBORN BOOK

Newborns are born ready for this. I've pottied all six of mine from the first day, and every one of them was out of diapers by the time they were walking.

The secret nobody tells you is that a newborn's signals are the strongest they will ever be. The squirming, the grunting, the sudden fussing at the breast: that's your baby asking for the potty. Once you can see it, you can't unsee it.

My student ________ started at ___ days old and caught her first pee in the potty on day ___!

YES, I WANT TO START NOW

Here's how it works

1
Learn the handful of signals and timing windows every newborn gives you (I call them pottytunities).
2
Hold your baby over a small potty at those moments and make your cue sound: "psss" for pee, "mm mm" for poop.
3
Catch a few, miss a few, and keep the diaper on as a backup. Part-time is a pro move, and it all counts as learning.

Could it be any simpler? Your newborn is already doing their part. All you have to do is show up with a potty and follow the steps in my book.

SHOW ME THE STEPS

This book can help you and your baby if you:

  • are pregnant and want to start on day one
  • have a baby under four months and keep hearing "it's too early"
  • are running on three hours of sleep and cannot read a 300-page book right now
  • want fewer poopy diapers, starting this week
  • want to understand what your baby's cries actually mean
  • like the idea of EC but want the smallest possible first step
  • have heard of elimination communication and thought, okay, tell me more
THAT'S ME, SHOW ME HOW

*This book is for parents with 0–4 month babies. 4 months and up, go here.

Pottying your newborn requires NO:

  • extra time (it's faster than cleaning a blowout)
  • waiting for "readiness"
  • giving up diapers (the diaper is a tool, not a toilet)
  • special clothing
  • doing it every single time
  • pressure on you or your baby
  • big mess (newborn pees are tiny and the potty catches them)

Introducing Baby Meets Potty

What's included?

  • A short, friendly digital book you can read in an evening (or one long cluster feed), so you can try your first pottytunity tomorrow morning.
  • The four ways to know your newborn needs to go: their signals, natural timing, transition times, and your own intuition.
  • My exact cue sounds and how to use them, so your baby starts connecting the sound with letting go.
  • The pottytunities: the everyday moments a newborn is most likely to go, so you offer the potty at the right times instead of hovering.
  • The simple gear setup (a top hat potty and a waterproof pad) and how to hold a floppy newborn so it feels secure for both of you.
  • What to do when the signals seem to disappear, so a rough week doesn't turn into quitting.
  • How part-time EC works and why I call it a pro move.
  • Your next step: exactly when and how to move on to the Go Diaper Free book once the newborn phase ends.

A newborn class in person runs well over $100, and three years of diapers will cost you about $3,000. You're getting the whole newborn method for $15.

I'M READY TO POTTY MY NEWBORN

Andrea, what do I need to potty my newborn?

Honestly, a potty and some confidence. Your baby already has the other half.

Every newborn will cry and cry to get a wet diaper off and go in a clean, dry, healthy way. They're mammals, and mammals don't like soiling themselves. What I've learned over six babies is that the first four months are the easiest time to start, not the hardest, because the signals are so clear and the pees are so small.

The only thing you're missing is the how-to, and that's what this little book is for.

Have more questions?

Andrea, did you really potty your babies from birth?

Yep. All six of them, from the first day or two. My children stopped using daytime diapers at 9.5, 13, 15, 12, 12, and 14 months, and I hardly ever changed a poopy diaper. I followed the same newborn method you'll find in this book.

Isn't it too early? My baby is only a few weeks old.

The newborn weeks are the easiest time to start. Signals are at their strongest, pees are tiny, and your baby is with you constantly anyway. You don't need to wait for anything.

How much time does this take?

Less than you'd think. Most of my readers do this part-time: mornings and evenings, after naps, at diaper changes. It's not all-or-nothing, and every catch counts as learning for your baby.

What happens after four months?

Baby Meets Potty gets you started. When your baby leaves the newborn phase, the Go Diaper Free book takes you the rest of the way to walking, with a plan for every stage. You can add it at checkout at a discount, or grab it later.

Is there a paperback?

On this page you'll get the digital ebook (PDF), an instant download. You'll have the chance to add the paperback at a discount in the next step of checkout, along with the video version of this book, a top hat potty, and my Go Diaper Free book.

Do I need any special gear?

You can use a mixing bowl or your sink, but I recommend a top hat potty for newborns. It fits between your knees and makes a tiny baby feel secure. It's available at my sister store tinyundies.com and as an add-on in a moment.

Can you guarantee my baby will be out of diapers early?

Anyone who guarantees anything for every baby is a big fat liar. ;) What I can say is that babies are born with the instincts to do this, and if you follow the method and stay relaxed about it, it is very likely to work.

What ages does this book cover?

Pregnancy through 4 months. For 4–18 months, get the Go Diaper Free book at godiaperfree.com/book. For 12–18 months with no prior EC, see The Early Potty Training Book. For 18 months and up, get The Tiny Potty Training Book at godiaperfree.com/ptbook.

How do I purchase? What happens next?

Click any button on this page to reach the checkout form, enter your name, email, and address, choose your payment option, and check out. You'll get a direct link to your book and an email with the same link. If you get stuck, we're a quick email away at mamas@godiaperfree.com.

Do you offer refunds?

Due to the digital nature of our products, we do not offer refunds on digital goods.

Do you offer support?

The book points you to the Going Diaper-Free Community (godiaperfree.com/community) for coaching, live Q+As with me, and all my minicourses. And if you add the Go Diaper Free book at checkout, it comes with my coach-led EC support group.
